Remodeling your kitchen is an exciting process. Whether you are simply replacing old cabinets or doing a complete overhaul of the kitchen, you need to consider many things. One area that many homeowners neglect is the electrical portion of the project.
Your home’s electrical system works every day. It keeps your lights on, your appliances running, and your heating and cooling systems going strong. But are you really sure your electrical system can meet your household’s needs?
Remodelling an older home can give you a space that has the comfort and functionality you want without having to move. But once walls start coming down, you might discover problems with the electrical system that can delay your home renovation.
When you buy an electric vehicle, you no longer need to go to the gas station, and you can charge your car at home. But before you put an EV charger in your garage or driveway, you need to make sure your home’s electrical system can safely handle the extra load.
Many older homes were built to run on a 100-amp electrical service, which was plenty to handle the electrical needs of the time. But now homes use a lot more electricity. Central air conditioning, electric stoves, heat pumps, EV chargers, and other modern appliances we rely on are now putting a huge amount of pressure on old electrical systems.
