Protect Your Home and Everyone in It

Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors play a critical role in keeping your family safe. Early detection can save lives, especially during a fire or a carbon monoxide leak when danger isn’t always obvious. These alarms to alert you immediately so you have time to act, making them one of the most important safety features in your home.

Whether you’re building a new home, remodeling, or replacing outdated detectors, we install your safety systems correctly and make sure they meet current electrical and safety codes.

Why Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors Matter

Smoke Detectors

Smoke detectors provide early warning in the event of a fire, often while you and your family are sleeping. In many cases, they are the only alert you’ll have before a fire spreads. You should test smoke detectors monthly and replace them every 10 years. For maximum protection, detectors should also be interconnected so when one alarm sounds, all alarms in the home activate at the same time.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas often called the “silent killer.” Without a CO detector, dangerous levels can go unnoticed. Carbon monoxide detectors alert you to potential issues caused by fuel-burning appliances such as gas stoves, dryers, furnaces, or fireplaces. Every home should have CO detectors installed alongside smoke alarms to provide full protection.

The Importance of Professional Installation

Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors only work when they’re installed in the right locations and functioning properly. Incorrect placement or outdated equipment can reduce their effectiveness or prevent them from working at all. Our licensed electricians know where detectors should be installed, how they should be interconnected, and how to ensure everything meets local code and manufacturer requirements.

From new installations to replacements and upgrades, KC Electrical Contracting helps ensure your detectors work exactly as they should, especially when you need them most.

Kyle did an amazing job on electrical work that was required to hang a new TV over our fireplace. There were no electrical outlets for where they were required; so Kyle had to cut thru the walls, install a new outlet and repair the walls including painting. You can’t tell where he even cut into the wall and the TV looks beautiful!

Keep Your Home Safe from Carbon Monoxide

Fuel-burning appliances such as furnaces, gas stoves, and water heaters can produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide when they malfunction or aren't properly vented. A blocked chimney, damaged vent, or cracked heat exchanger can allow this harmful gas to build up in your home without warning.

Properly installed carbon monoxide detectors provide an essential layer of protection. Our licensed electricians install detectors in locations that meet current safety codes, including required areas near bedrooms and on applicable levels of your home. We also make sure that hardwired detectors connect properly, have the required battery backup, and function as intended.

Whether you're installing carbon monoxide detectors in a new home, replacing outdated units, or upgrading your existing safety system, we'll help you choose the right equipment and placement for reliable protection.

Your family's safety is too important to leave to chance. We take every installation seriously, follow applicable electrical and safety codes, and never cut corners when it comes to protecting your home.
